Oklahoma State Fair and Disney on Ice

Yeah for the Oklahoma State Fair! Every September, the state fair offers many opportunities to see animals like horses and sheep, eat things on sticks (snickers, twinkies, pizza and butter, just to name a few), ride fun amusement rides, and see some very interesting Oklahoma folk! The girls and I went one day with our friends Lynn, Evan and Emma.

We enjoyed watching some of the sheep get haircuts, and we even got to pet one of the sheep!

We found the most normal person we could to take our picture! (it was at the end of our trip, as you can tell from some of the grumpy faces. Next time we'll get the picture at the beginning instead of the end!)

The family and I headed back to the fair later on that week because we had Disney on Ice tickets for that evening! Mike hadn't been to the fair yet that year, so we had to show him around and check out some things we hadn't gotten to see yet.

Sophie got to try her hand at farming. First she "planted" a seed, then got to pick apples, pumpkins, potatoes and eggs (I guess you don't "pick" eggs, but I can't think of the right term. Sorry!)

Almost as good as the turkey legs! We didn't get a picture of it, but I also tried the fried snickers on a stick. Don't know if I'd get it again, but it was good to try!

Elsie had a great time too!!! (well, for the first 30 minutes...then Mike had to walk around with her because she got sick of sitting still!) Can't wait for next year's fair! Maybe the girls will get to experience their first fair rides!!!!
