Fun in July

We took advantage of Mike's month long vacation to do some more fun stuff here in Oklahoma! There is a restaurant about 30 minutes north east of us called "Pops." As you can guess from the name, the restaurant/store is full of every kind of pop you can think of! Orange, strawberry, millions of different kinds of rootbeer, cream sodas, grape, etc. We ate some great hamburgers and then picked out a 6 pack of pop to take home.

The walls are lined with pop bottles. Grammy and Pop....we've got to go here when you visit!!! We can get a picture of Pop next to the pop!

Goofy Elsie...she likes to put toys/shoes/whatever she can find in her mouth and then crawl around like that. It's super cute!

Have you ever seen someone so covered in beets?

The poor second child doesn't get held near as much as the first-born. Here's how Elsie usually drinks her bottles (we'll be paying for psychiatrist bills to deal with this later, I'm sure.)

BBQing with friends...Elsie got to hang out with her boyfriends, Gehrig and Jackson.

Emma, Sophie and Hannah...Besties!

Elsie with more boyfriends. She's pretty much outnumbered by boy babies...Mike's already starting to worry!

Hannah, Sarah and Sophie disappeared into Hannah's room for a while...when they came out, they were all dressed in some of Hannah's pajamas!! They told us that they were getting ready for bed!

We got to take a quick trip out to our friends' youth camp, Camp Wow, to visit Sophie's friend, Emma. Hannah and her family came with us. Here's Elsie riding around in the "mule" in the rain!

Mike finally got to fish!!!

Eating in the cafeteria with all of the kids. It sure was noisy, but it brought back fun memories of youth group camps!

Sophie and Hannah went out on the canoe with their daddies

Elsie took a nap wherever she could get it!

Summer lovin'

Sophie and Elsie went over to my friend Lynn's house yesterday (so Mike and I could see Harry Potter! Great movie!) Sophie and Evan had a great time...but who couldn't when you are eating an ice cream cone next to a sand box!

This is a picture of Sophie and Evan's sister, Emma

And here is a picture of our lot where we are building our new house!!!!!! They should be starting any day now!

Evan and Sophie found this sticker book to be absolutely hilarious! I'm not sure what they were laughing about...it must be some inside joke between friends! (and yes, Mike is watching Nascar in the background.)

Finally going camping!

I was finally able to convince Susanne to go camping with the girls on Friday night! We went to Roman Nose State Park, near Watonga, OK. It is named after somebody with a Roman nose. The weather was perfect!

I can't believe that we were only gone one night, yet we filled up the entire mini-van with the essentials.

I have heard that the first hour of a camping trip with children is the hardest part. The girls did very good, mostly because Elsie enjoys being naked.

Sophie put the tent up all by herself.

Elsie was really sad that there isn't a NASCAR race this weekend. This is how she spent her time while Sophie and I went swimming.

After we set up camp, Sophie and I went to the swimming pool and tried out her new PuddleJumper lifevest.

Elsie is more interested in starting fires than Sophie.

Her first smore!

Elsie has a new love for marshmallows.

She'll even eat them out of your mouth!

Sophie is a great power-hiker.
