Mike's half marathon and other pictures

My amazing husband, Mike, ran the half-marathon in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon last weekend. He's been training for a long time, and we were all so proud of him!! The race started at 6:30, so the girls and I got up super early so that we could watch! We stopped near my nursing school first so that we could see him run by at mile 2. You can tell from Sophie's hair that it was crazy windy that day, which made the second half of Mike's run very miserable.

He's the one on the left in the gray singlet!

Then the girls and I drove to bricktown so that we could see Mike cross the finish line. (You can tell we got up early because the girls were still in their pajamas. I figured lots of kids would be dressed that way, but they were the only ones that I saw. Oh well.)

Here he comes!

There he goes!

Mike ran the race in 1 hour 24 minutes and finished 17th out of the 5600 people who ran the half marathon! Isn't that awesome?!?!

Elsie got her arm stuck in the wheel of the book "The Wheels on the bus go round and round."

Last Thursday, Sophie and her friend Emma got to go to Hannah's house after school to watch movies. Our sunday school class met up that night for dinner at Olive Garden, and it was so cute to see all the girls come walking down the hall towards our table!

Kaylee didn't know what she was getting into by walking over to the 2 year olds. They mobbed her with hugs and kisses!

Elsie has started army-crawling around the house. She heads right for everything that she's NOT supposed to touch, like plugs, Rascal's water/food bowls and the entertainment center!

We created a fake sandbox for Sophie out on our back porch. She had so much fun playing in it this morning! Elsie was also having fun putting her hands in the sand, but I was too busy making sure that she didn't then put her sand-covered hands in her mouth, so I couldn't run and get a picture of that!

And here are some videos of our cute kids!

Wow Mike, that is awesome! It brought back memories of your races in HS. I was always so proud of my big brother (although I could beat you in basketball! hehe). I loved the pictures and videos of Sophie and Elsie. Sophie's hair is getting so long!

It seems like just yesterday that Sophie was doing "so big" and now Elsie is a pro. Wow, that bathtub is full of kids and stuff. Mike, we are so proud of your running accomplishment. And your little family of supporters are so loyal. What would Coach Recla say?! We miss you all so much, Love, Mom and Dad (aka Grammy and Pop)
