Animal overload!!

We have been taking advantage of the wonderful weather by getting outside and seeing lots of animals!!!!! On Friday, the girls and I went to the zoo (it was the first time that I had taken them by myself). We had a great time! Elsie seemed pretty bored, but Sophie had fun running around and seeing all of the animals. Her favorite were the scuba divers cleaning the big fish tank. I asked her if she wanted to go scuba diving some day and she said "no." Pop, Grandpa and Grandma...you'll have to keep working on her!!

Grandma, this picture is for you! We know how much you love snakes!!

Then, on Saturday, we drove about an hour away to the Arbuckle Wilderness Park. It is a drive-thru safari with buffalo, zebra, ostriches, camels, deer, wolves, and a whole bunch of other animals. They gave us animal food (Sophie called it "cookies") to throw out of your window so that the animals will come right up to your car. It was so much fun!!!!! (And just a note: We took Sophie out of her carseat while we were stopped next to the animals so that she could see better. She went back to her carseat when we were moving. I just don't want anyone to report us to the authorities!)

Some of Sophie's favorite books are "Llama llama mad at mama" and "llama llama red pajama," so she was excited to feed the llamas. I think I was actually a little more excited because I thought this llama was just adorable and I wanted to take him/her home with us!

This emu was giving us the stink eye. It was kind of freaky.

I thought this sign was hilarious! They really try to keep people from getting out of their car during the drive-thru part. This sign was outside of the wolf pen.

The donkeys were hilarious!! They had the cutest lips! Their teeth were really dirty, so I told Sophie she needs to brush everyday so that she doesn't get donkey teeth.

Mom, here's another picture for you! This was the freakest part because the ostriches would stick their heads into the car looking for food. Sophie was slightly traumatized, which is understandable since her parents were screaming and trying frantically to shut the windows, but she cheered up when we came to the ducks and baby deer.

Today, we went back to the zoo with some friends.

What great pictures! Can I go to the zoo with you? And that animal park looked like so much fun! Kind of scary! But, really, I didn't need to see the picture of that sweet little Sophie standing in front of that ugly snake....yuck...Sophie is smiling so pretty in all the pictures-she has so much fun! We love you!!!

okay
1. i like that you have a quadruple chin in that one picture.
2. i love that llama too
3. everything you said made me laugh outloud
4. one time an ostrich bit my sister's hand, but she was okay, but those things are soooo scary.
5. sophie, brush your teeth 100 times a day or they will look like this (tell her that, and then show her some old man's unbrushed dentures)
6. i thought of you for some reason todya but i cant remember why.
7. i miss you, and will take the kids to the zoo myself so you and mike can do a puzzle, only if he hides a piece... BUT ONLY IF YOU MOVE HERE, and you can't get blown away in a tornado...be safe!
