Happy 1st Birthday, Sophie!!

Sophie turned 1 year old on Saturday!! We started the fun day by going to the zoo. Sophie's favorites were the red panda and the sea lions. She also liked the donkeys in the children's zoo. She also had fun swinging and riding the carousel.

Grandma tried to teach Sophie how to lick the ice cream (she never really caught on, but it was cute to watch!)

When we got home, Sophie opened her presents!! She loved the bows most of all!

A cute doggie sweater from Grandma and Grandpa

Learning to drive already!!

Sophie's cousin, Micah, thought she needed some sports toys for her birthday. Sophie loves to dunk the basketball!!

It took her a little while to dig into the cake, but once she did, there was chocolate everywhere! (Even on her feet!)

A birthday bedtime story from one of her new books.
We are meeting Mike's family at a cabin in Arkansas for Thanksgiving, so Sophie is going to have another birthday party then! She can't wait for some more cake!!!

Happy Halloween! Meow!

Sophie was the cutest little black cat for Halloween! Our church has a Fall Festival every year, and each Sunday School department is in charge of a booth. Our booth was the pumpkin toss, so Mike had to run around getting balls that little kids were attempting to throw into pumpkins. I was in charge of making sure that our little black cat didn't get in the way!

Layla, a little girl from our department, kept crawling after Sophie to try to get her tail!

Sophie crawled up right next to the little boy in blue, and it totally looked like she was copying him and trying to lie on the floor just like he was! So cute!

The following pictures are from earlier in the day:

Halloween is exhausting!

Here are some miscellaneous pictures of Sophie:

Go CU!

Mike bought Sophie her first set of blocks (he's hoping to get her to like to play with Legos, mostly so he can play with them too!)

This is what I woke up to on Sunday afternoon after working all night. What a mess!

My cousin, David, and his fiance, Sarah, got married on Oct 20 in Colorado, so we made the trip out there to be at the wedding. It was such a nice wedding, and Sarah is such a great girl!! We're excited to have her in the family!!!! I still can't believe that my little cousin is married (actually, he's only 3 months younger than me. Ha Ha!) The pictures from the wedding are on my parent's computer, and we forgot to make a copy of them before we left. I'll post some of those as soon as I get them!

My sister and her son, Micah, also made the trip out from Virginia. Reed, my brother-in-law, couldn't make it out because of football season (he plays for the Washington Redskins), but it was very nice to see Katie and little Micah. Sophie and Micah were so cute together! They haven't really played together before because they were too little, but this time they were following each other through-out the house and getting into mischief! Micah taught Sophie how to crawl up stairs, and Sophie tried to teach Micah how to get out through the doggie door (she actually did make it out once, but Katie got to Micah before he had a chance to try!)

We met Reed's mom at 3 J's, a coffee house in Johnstown where Katie and Reed first met (ahhh...how sweet!) Micah and Sophie got to try out the drums. Micah was a natural, but it took a while for Sophie to figure it out that she wasn't supposed to chew on the drumsticks.

Then, after my sister and Micah had left, Mike and I made a quick trip to see his old house in Denver, then to Boulder to walk around campus, and finally to Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.

It was freezing in the mountains, so Sophie had on a shirt, sweatshirt, sweater and her coat! The poor girl could barely move!

Weekend Fun at the Orr Family Farm

Last Saturday, Sophie and her two girl-friends from Sunday School went to a farm by our house called the Orr Family Farm. She got to ride pedal cars with her dad, pet some farm animals, ride a train and the carousel, and even go pick a pumpkin!

The pumpkins were tiny...a perfect size for little Sophie!
The guys were racing while holding the babies (Jennifer and I were a little worried!)
